Music to benefit dogs in need, inspired by deliberate acts of kindness and generosity
Many of you who know that I own and operate a dog care business called GoDoG in Brooklyn, NY. As you can imagine, like many small businesses, the pandemic had a huge negative impact on my business. Most of our clients have been working from home, some have moved out of New York City and very few new clients have surfaced.
This project is created for and dedicated to all my clients, all our dogs, and is a testament to the spirit of compassion and loyalty. It is also in appreciation for the benevolence bestowed upon me, my staff and my company by the magnanimous souls and their magical pups who have supported us
Many, many of our clients have continued to generously give us donations since the pandemic began. Some have donated lump sums, and many have literally paid us weekly as if we were still coming to walk their dog. The gratitude that I feel is immense.
I've asked myself repeatedly, how do I honor their generosity and kindness ? Is there anything I can do to express my gratitude and demonstrate just how humbled I am by these huge-hearted gestures? How can I pay back this money ? Well,I can’t ! But… I can pay it forward.
It then dawned on me. I have some recordings, songs I've never released. I thought, why don't you release those songs and donate all the proceeds to rescue groups in a tribute to those folks and their dogs, who have been so lovingly supportive of us during this difficult time. Yes !
Then my ego screamed, No ! What do you mean “no" I said to myself ? These songs, these recordings are old, ten to twenty years old ! They aren't reflective of you today, how will you look ?!
Then I said to my ego, hush ! Sit down ! Not about you small self ! Lol. Send out some music, and see if you can raise some money
for the rescue groups that brought these beautiful dogs into your orbit as a tribute to the kindness, and generosity of these wonderful people who have supported GoDoG during these trying times.
YES! Let's do it!
In honor, with reverence and gratitude…these particular pups and their families have been a Godsend. I hope I’m not leaving anyone out.
This will be a limited edition release. All proceeds for the next six months will go to a bevy of rescue organizations that have saved many of the aforementioned dogs amongst other we care for.
Suggested donation is $10 for the album and $1.50 for any single, but feel free to give whatever you wish. Thank you. I love our dogs ? And all dogs ! They are my heart.
